Majors Division

The Majors division is made up of 6th - 8th graders with the exception of a few younger players who have demonstrated skills that are befitting to the Majors level. Teams are formed through a draft with a strong emphasis on creating balanced teams. Our teams are named after prominent College Softball teams (Washington Huskies, UCLA Bruins, etc...).

Managers and Coaches - All of our Managers and Coaches are Rutgers Safety Clinic or NYSCA Certified. In addition nearly all have participated in our Winter Training Clinics and have attended additional coaches clinics.

Games - The Majors typically play 2 games per week primarily on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Saturday but there will be other weeknights included on the schedule. Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00 or 3:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions it is possible that we will make up rainouts on Sundays at either 1:00 or 3:00.
Most games will be played at Bundt Park in Clinton Twsp. Other fields include NHHS JV and/or Varsity fields, Hunt's Mill in Clinton, Clinton Public School or the Elks Lodge. Majors will play a 12 game regular season followed by playoffs (all teams make the playoffs).

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey, black mini-mesh shorts and socks. For cooler days it is recommended that players wear a black shirt under their uniform.

Recommended Equipment for Majors Players include: a glove (11.5" - 12" is common); cleats; sliding pad; sliding shorts (to be worn under uniform shorts); hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Each team will be provided with a couple team bats and several helmets but many players choose to have their own bats and helmet. ASA requires that all helmets include a face guard - you can purchase the face guard as an add-on or purchase a new helmet with one. Other optional items include batting gloves; equipment bag (one that clips to fence is best). Majors use a regulation ASA 12" softball with raised threads.

Trophies will be awarded to both the league Champion team (1st place in the regular season standings) and the Playoff Champions.

Minors Division

The Minors division is made up of 3rd - 5th graders. Teams are formed through a draft with a strong emphasis on creating balanced teams. Our teams are named after prominent College Softball teams (Florida Gators, Cal Golden Bears, etc...).

Managers and Coaches - All of our Managers and Coaches are Rutgers Safety Clinic or NYSCA Certified. In addition nearly all have participated in our Winter Training Clinics and have attended additional coaches clinics.

Games - The Minors Division typically play 2 games per week - Primarily on either Monday, Wednesday and/or Saturday but other weeknights will be included on the 2007 schedule. Game times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00 or 3:00 on Saturdays. Depending upon our weather conditions this year it is possible that we will make up rainouts on Sundays at either 1:00 or 3:00.  Most games will be played at Bundt Park in Clinton Township. Other fields include NHHS JV and/or Varsity fields, Hunt's Mill in Clinton, Clinton Public School or the Elks Lodge. Minors will play a 12 game regular season followed by playoffs (all teams make the playoffs).

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey, black mini-mesh shorts and socks. For cooler days it is recommended that players wear a black shirt under their uniform.

Recommended Equipment for Minors Players include: a glove (11.0" - 12" is common); cleats; sliding pad; sliding shorts (to be worn under uniform shorts); hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Minors use a ASA 11" Incrediball (bit softer than the std softball).

Trophies will be awarded to both the league Champion team (1st place in the regular season standings) and the Playoff Champions.

Junior Division

The Junior division is made up of 2nd graders and is designed to provide a level of play that surpasses the Pony Division, align more with the traditional rules of the game and better prepare the girls to play in the Minors  Division.  Teams are composed with friendships and municipality in mind.

Games - The Juniors will get together for 90 minutes either once or twice per week on a weeknight and/or Saturday from mid April - early June. Start times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00 or 3:00 on Saturdays. Two teams will meet at the field and practice separately for 45 minutes and then play a game for 45 minutes. Juniors will use a pitching machine to provide consistency in pitching and develop good batting skills.  Juniors will also follow modified rules to build fielding skills and develop familiarity with the traditional ASA game rules.  We plan to keep the teams small so that the girls get more opportunities to field and bat a ball.  Most games will be played at Hunt's Mill in Clinton or Clinton Public School.

Uniforms - Each player will receive a V-neck sleeveless jersey and black mesh shorts. For cooler days it is recommended that players wear a white or black shirt under their uniform.

Recommended Equipment for Junior Players include: a glove (10" - 11" is common); cleats/sneakers; hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Each team will be provided with bats, balls and helmets but it's recommended that players purchase their own helmets for proper sizing and hygiene purposes. Juniors use a ASA 11" Incrediball (softer than the std softball).

Trophies will be awarded to all Junior players.

Pony Division

The Pony division is made up of Kindergarten and 1st graders. Teams are composed with friendships and municipality in mind. Our teams are the Pintos, Mustangs, Colts, Painted Ponies, Shetlands, Appaloosa, etc...

Games - The Ponies will get together for 90 minutes either once or twice week on a weeknight and/or Saturday from mid April - early June. Start times are 6:00 on weekdays and either 9:00, 11:00,1:00 or 3:00 on Saturdays. Two teams will meet at the field and practice separately for 45 minutes and then play a game for 45 minutes. Ponies will start hitting off of a batting tee and progress to coach soft toss.

Recommended Equipment for Pony Players include: a glove (10" - 11" is common); cleats/sneakers; hair bands, hair ties, etc.. Each team will be provided with bats, balls and helmets but it recommended that players purchase their own helmets for proper sizing and hygiene purposes. Ponies use a ASA 11" Incrediball (softer than the std softball).

Trophies will be awarded to all Pony players.
