2010 Travel Teams
Skylands Girls Fastpitch will have travel teams (The Pride)
at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels in 2010.
What do we do if our daughter is
interested?

Send an email
direct to the coach indicating your interest. Include your
daughter’s name, birth date and softball experience

A player’s age
as of December 31 determines the age in which the player is eligible
to play the following year.

– Rosters typically consist of 12-13 players
·
Versus using 1
or 2 tryouts to determine who makes the team, the coaches will
assess the girls from now until approximately the end of
April. They will use what they see at the indoor clinics, any travel
team practices and their performance & aptitude in the Skylands
Spring Season to determine who makes the team(s).

It
is possible, but not confirmed, that there may be more than 1 team
within a given division. This is common in some of the larger
surrounding townships where they have 2 or more teams in a single
age division – one being more senior than the other. For us it will
depend upon the number of girls who tryout and whether we can build
an infrastructure of coaches to run a 2nd team.

We expect the
teams to be announced in early May

Not
entirely - there are returning travel team players that are very
likely to be on the team but each Mgr will make the final
determination as to their roster.
